I started liking Alia since X6, even though many fans disregard that one, it did elaborate on her background and I thought it made her a better character because of who she was and felt like she can reason with Gate. X8 just made her crazy sexy. I think when they made Alia (though, it's a huge nod to Roll) I believe that she was intended to be X's Iris as Zero and Iris had a thing for each other before the events of X4. Still, Alia's nice. I almost fainted seeing her new look when the X8 demo came to America.
